Refuge Essential Oil Blend | Calming

Refuge Essential OilI love essential oil blends. The synergy of oils is amazing. The synergy of a blend is what makes it so much more effective because the individual essential oils are more effective because their properties compliment each other. Refuge Essential Oil Blend from Nature’s Sunshine is one of my favorite blends for calming you down and helping you to relax.

It has a wonderful scent. Its scent is floral with a hint of citrus and a slight undertone of warmth which I think comes from the Cedar and Vanilla. This blend’s scent makes me feel comfortable, like I am at home. It also seems to nourish the heart and settle the mind.  It is a great blend to carry with you in a roll on or to diffuse. You can also add it to your baths or lotions.

It contains Lavender, Sweet Orange, Cedar, Ylang Ylang, Blue Tansy, and Vanilla!

The Oils in Refuge Essential Oil Blend

Lavender Essential Oil is one of the most used oils on the market today. It is an all purpose oil helping people manage stress, assist with skin problems and even helps to promote pain relief. It is great for balancing our emotions including frustration and anger. Lavender’s has analgesic, cicatrisant, and nervine properties.

Sweet Orange Essential Oil is known as the feel good oil.  The citrus smell of orange will brighten any day so how can you not find it uplifting and relaxing at the same time.  The smell of sweet orange always makes you smile. It has anti-depressant properties and is known for its use as an uplifting tonic.

Cedar, Atlas Essential Oil smells woodsy and is grounding giving you that feeling of confidence and warmth.  Who couldn’t use a little grounding when stress creeps into your day. It has been used for stress, anxiety and to help bring balance to your thoughts. It has cephalic and sedative properties.

Ylang Ylang Essential Oil has a strong floral scent and a little goes a long way as this blend demonstrates. It is known as a heart tonic and it is one of my favorites for relaxation. I find that it helps with that panicky feeling and quiets the mind as your mind keeps replaying the same thoughts. It also has sedative and tonic benefits.

Blue Tansy Essential Oil is what gives this blend its blue tint. I love the smell of blue tansy because it is slightly floral which has an herbal accent it.  It helps us deal with our feelings especially when we are annoyed. It also has stimulant, sedative and tonic benefits.

Vanilla Essential Oil has a wonderful smell.  I don’t know about you, however, whenever I smell vanilla I think of chocolate chip cookies. This smell brings a smile on my face from my youth and warmth to my heart. How can that feeling not help with worrying.

Using Refuge Essential Oil Blend

I love to use it in a spray or a roll on. To make a roll on all you need is a 15ml roller ball bottle, almond or jojoba oil and 4-6 drops of Refuge Essential Oil Blend. Add all ingredients to the roller ball bottle and mix gently in the palms of your hand as you rub them together. You can use the roll on to relax by applying it to your pulse points on your wrists and the back of your neck.

If you want to make a room spray, add 2 oz of distilled water and 15-20 drops of this blend and then shake it before you spray. You should also feel free to add a drop or two of this blend mixed with a tablespoon of carrier oil to your bath for 15-20 minutes of soak time!

You can see why I love Refuge Essential Oil blend so much!  It has many uses and will bring a sense of calm and balance to whoever takes the time to enjoy its aroma!  I carry this one with me and use it if I can’t turn my mind off to go to sleep, feeling stressed or anxious, or just need to relax and rejuvenate!
